General Program Criteria: Must be eligible for Employment Income Assistance (EIA). Intake is done on a continuous basis.

Objectives of Program: To provide GED upgrading in preparation for training and employment in the apprenticeship trades.

Activities of Program: Following assessment on the individual participant’s plan of action, there will be a classroom program of 360 hours of instruction in computer literacy, GED reading, GED literature and the arts, GED writing, GED science, and GED math. An introduction to apprenticeship trades is also provided.

Following classroom graduation assistance is provided in employment placement through direct marketing, student participation and a job finding club. Career development, job search skills, resume development and interview skills are also part of the post classroom program. Job coaching and job monitoring is provided as required.
